How to take an ice bath

Simply fill your HydroBarrel with cold water and sit in it, ideally covering up to your chest. Despite the name, there’s no need to actually freeze! - a water temperature of between 10°C and 15°C (50°F and 59°F) is perfect – not exactly ideal bath temperature for most people but just cold enough to reap the benefits. 

 

Tap water in the UK is normally around 15 degrees.  Depending on the season, you can decrease it with ice or heat it up with hot water to get it just right.  Stay submerged for a few minutes – start with 1-5 minutes while you build up a tolerance and aim for 10-15 minutes – no longer! Once you get out, warm up gently but quickly – wrap up warm!
