Product Overview
The 50 litre Garden Water Butt is a beautifully crafted wood-effect barrel by Roto, designed to blend naturally into your garden surroundings. As the smallest in the range, it’s ideal for balconies, greenhouses, courtyards, and smaller gardens.
With its attractive design and quality finish, there’s no need to hide it away - this is a water butt you’ll be proud to display.
Manufactured using durable roto-moulded polyethylene, the barrel is frost-resistant, UV-stabilised, and impact-resistant. Unlike traditional wooden barrels, it won’t crack, rot, or fade, ensuring long-lasting performance and colour retention year after year. It’s also significantly lighter than wood, making it easy to position and move when needed.
Perfectly sized for compact spaces, this 50 litre barrel allows you to collect and reuse rainwater efficiently, helping your plants thrive while reducing reliance on tap water.

Transferring Water to the 50 Litre Water Butt:
To transfer rainwater from your downpipe into a 50 litre water butt, you have a couple of options depending on whether you want the water filtered. For unfiltered water, we recommend the Harcostar Rain Trap. It’s a cost-effective and straightforward solution. For filtered water, to remove leaves, moss, and other debris, consider using the Gutter Mate Diverter and Filter or the 3P Filter Collector. These options help keep the water in your butt cleaner for longer.
Once you've chosen a diverter, you'll need to consider the correct hole size. We recommend using a 25mm drill bit for the Harcostar Rain Trap & Gutter Mate, and a 32mm drill bit for the 3P Filter Collector, as both make the job much easier.
Place your water butt in position first, then mark the best location for the hole. Once ready, simply drill and install the diverter.
Available Sizes: These barrels are also available in various sizes, beginning with the 140L, 240L, 350L, and 480L.
